Nov. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Dancers Unite Fine Arts Academy is proud to announce that four of their dancers were Macy's Dancers in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this year.  Allie Andrews, Hannah Hernandez, Faith Kressner and Malena Wenning were among the 650 dancers in America's favorite Thanksgiving parade.  Allie and Malena live in Dilworth, Faith lives in South Charlotte and Hannah lives in Mount Holly.  They are all from the Charlotte area.  These four dancers were also invited to dance in the London New Years Day Parade.

Dancers Unite Fine Arts Academy was closely evaluated by the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade committee.  The invitation for their teenagers (ages 14-18) to dance in the parade was issued last fall.  The studio booster club held numerous fundraising activities for months to help make pay for the costs of the trips.  The fundraisers will continue as Dancers Unite teens have been invited to dance in the 2013 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Hopefully many more teens will be Macy's Dancers next year.

The four dancers from Dancers Unite joined dancers from over sixty studios across the country traveling to New York City on Saturday, November 17, 2012.  They spent a lot of time practicing and rehearsing their dance.  There were 649 girls and one boy dancer.  The dancers also attended the Broadway musical "Bring It On" and the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular.  They also took a Harbor Tour and went shopping.

"Dancers Unite Fine Arts Academy is very proud to be invited to participate in America's favorite Thanksgiving Day parade," said Elizabeth Emery.  "We know this will be a wonderful experience for these dancers and will be something they will remember for the rest of their lives.  We are hoping this will become a holiday studio tradition."

Dancers Unite Fine Arts Academy is owned by sisters, Julie and Elizabeth Emery, and their mother, Jo Emery.    Their competition team has won high awards and overalls at dance competitions.  Their dancers have been invited to dance in the half time show at the Orange Bowl.  In January, 2012, Allie and Faith danced in the half time show at the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida.  Their dancers have also done volunteer performances, dancing at nursing homes, tributes for our troops and other charity events.
