Nov. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- “The Dealmaker” is a brand new concept, which will follow three companies as they are advised by a team from The Corporate Finance Network. The companies involved will be filmed as they complete their first business acquisition, from inception stage through to identifying suitable target businesses and legal completion – and the fees for the transaction will be completely free.

Tracey Williams, Corporate Finance Partner at Albert Goodman, will be featured in the programme as part of the Due Diligence Investigation Team. Tracey says, “In our view, there has never been a better time to buy a business. With so many struggling companies in our current economy, and aging business owners with no exit plan, it is definitely a buyer’s market. There are some bargains to be had, but we do need more entrepreneurs to look at purchasing, as part of their overall growth strategy.

“We hope this TV show will demystify the process of buying a business, so that business owners, and employees of smaller businesses, will be encouraged to look at the option of a merger or acquisition in their own markets.

“We are actively looking for businesses from around the South West region, who want to make their first acquisition with us, and in return for the process being filmed, they will receive all corporate finance, accountancy and legal advice relating to the transaction, for no cost at all.”

The concept for the programme is the brainchild of The Corporate Finance Network (CFN), a national network of accountancy firms that specialise in corporate finance for small and medium sized businesses.

Kirsty McGregor, Founder and Chairman of the CFN recently met with Lord Young, the Prime Minister’s Enterprise Adviser, at Downing Street, to campaign for the government to introduce a tax relief for business share purchases.

The criteria for the companies who wish to become purchasers are:
•   Must have been trading at least three years
•   Must be a UK Limited Company
•   Must have sales turnover of at least £500k excluding VAT
•   Must not have purchased any businesses previously

To apply, businesses should contact Tracey Williams on 01823 286096 in complete confidence.

Albert Goodman has offices across the region including Taunton, Chard, Yeovil, Bridgwater, Weston-super-Mare and Weymouth. For further information, visit www.albertgoodman.co.uk.
