Susan de la Rosa is an artists who has illustrated children's books in the past, and carried out installation art both indoors and outdoors. Roughly 12 years ago, she became interested in alternative buildings, materials and techniques. Through the many wonders of art she saw, she became inspired to design her own house which will hopefully become her dream house. Now, Susan sets out to make a real difference in the world and build a home and community center within the community of Coron. The home will be built from sweat, tears and love from the locals and natives of Coron, and will be known as a revolution within the local town.
Susan aims to complete the project she has now started. The community center and home to many will be made out of strong bags around the size of a pillow, known as an Earthbag building. Through selecting the perfect soil with the correct amount of elements and consistency, they have chosen an ideal location for the building. They have currently placed thousands of handmade bags already, but are now seeking funding from people around the globe through IndieGoGo.
Susan is currently asking for $90,000 through her IndieGoGo campaign to help her finish the project she once dreamed of building.
