PRLog - Nov. 22, 2012 - ORLANDO, Fla. -- Progressive Metal Guitarist, Songwriter and Producer Gregg Olson has been hospitalized (the evening of Tuesday, November 20) due to a ruptured blood vessel which has bled into his brain-stem. This has caused total paralysis on the left side of his body. According to his wife Allison VonBuelow at this point we are unaware whether this will be temporary or not. Gregg has very little speech and will have to undergo massive therapy and will be in and out of medical facilities for the next six months. The hope is that when the blood dissolves, the tissue can heal and then we will have a better idea of what kind of recovery is possible. According to Allison “at this point, I am teaching him how to make sounds again.....but he still knows what a mixolodian scale is, Go figure. This is impossible this situation. He just will have to work as hard at this recovery as he did on this record.”
Scarlet Hollow had just released their first full length critically acclaimed CD What If Never Was on October 30th 2012, which was their follow-up to their debut EP Sanctuary, released in 2010.
According to the President of Melodic Revolution Records: “We are deeply saddened by the current events surrounding Scarlet Hollow, our heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Gregg and his family, band members and fans for a speedy recovery. Melodic Revolution Records is a family and right now one of our family members is gravely ill, he is a personal friend whom I have known for nearly 7 years. I am devastated by this news.”
