Jacqueline Wilson Bean Bags Launched by BeanBagBazaar

The range, which currently features iconic images from Tracy Beaker novels and other Wilson collections, is the company’s first foray into the world of licensed product and proved to be a difficult decision to make. Karen Ripley, their Marketing Manager explained, “we’re very much used to making our own decisions on design and in being very careful about the artistic quality and subject matter of our printed beanbags, so we needed a licensed property that would reflect our company values as well as appeal to our customers”.
Apparently, Jacqueline Wilson’s work and, in particular, the fantastic graphics available for Tracy Beaker and the Classics Collection made it an obvious choice for a company that sells children’s bean bags by the thousand. The initial launch is composed of 4 specially-composed montages that will excite any fan of Jacqueline’s work.
One of the important deciding factors behind the choice of Jacqueline Wilson was the degree to which BeanBagBazaar has developed very strong relationships with schools in recent years. This has gone well beyond simply supplying high-durability bean bags and has involved staff members getting involved in school activities and trying to understand how beanbag-based products can be used in ways that support the curriculum, as well as backsides.
As part of this development, the use of bean bags as a visual medium that can encourage reading or other important childhood activities was important. However, whilst curriculum-based products are useful in schools, it’s clearly more appropriate to have bean bags that feature a character like Tracy Beaker when it comes to home use and gift-giving.
