Electrifying & Brilliant: Dori's Electric Frosted Gala

Nov. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- For the 5th Time in a row, DORI showcases art, culture, fashion, music, dance and design at the Annual FROSTED Gala, hosted November 24th 2012 at the Metropolitan Grill on 16th Avenue. The ever popular event continues to grow and attract visitors from beyond the city limits. This year, the event features an ELECTRIC theme, and includes special youTube dance sensation and performer Marquese NONSTOP Scott, flown in from Atlanta. Guests to the Gala can expect an ELECTRIC fashion performance which includes Marquese as well as local dancers and models, ELECTRIC Fashion and jewellery by Patricia Livingston and DORI, a Frosted Winter Marketplace filled with Christmas gift ideas, DJ Markoshi and DJ Mike Auer, fantastic appetizers provided by the Metropolitan Grill on 17th Ave, a silent auction in support of the Cerebral Palsy association, and many more surprises! The event also features local artist Tara Pomeroy, who’s work will be displayed at the event.

“This year we are so excited to bring Marquese Scott [as seen on YouTube by 70 million people] to Calgary – It’s a really big deal for us! – After 5 galas, I think we’re finally getting the hang of it: we’re really proud of the work that we do and the team that we have put together”, says Director and CEO Dorian Kominek.  “It’s also gratifying to give other artists, models, musicians and designers work, and a platform to stand on.  We also love the relationship that we have built with our supported charity the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta. It’s important to support groups who enrich quality of life, and that is exactly what they do!”

Each year, the gala showcases fantastic production, supports and builds infrastructure for art, design, and culture in Calgary and Canada, captures high fashion trends and cultural themes, and sheds light on highly creative local businesses and individuals. The event also includes some exciting international brands. Finally, something new this year: the event’s slight name change. The event, now called DORI’s Frosted Gala instead of “Dori’s Diamonds” Frosted Gala, reflects the newly trademarked “DORI” jewellery brand which will officially début in the Fall of 2013.
