'Herbalife Bangalore School Games 2012' kicks off at Kanteerava Stadium

Nov. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Bangalore, 22nd  November 2012:  Herbalife Ltd. , a global nutrition company extended its support to Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation, for 'Herbalife Bangalore School Games 2012', which is in line with its vision to support and encourage events that promote health and fitness across the globe. Conducted over 3 days from November 20th to 22nd at the Kanteerava Stadium, this versatile sports event will witness the participation of children from amongst the best 500 schools in Bangalore competing under various disciplines of sports like swimming, athletics, basketball, footbhall, tennis.

The inaugural ceremony was addressed by honourable guests like Capt Ganesh Karnik- Deputy Chairman, NRI Forum & MLC Govt of Karnataka, Mr N A Harris - MLA , Shanthinagar Constituency.  The 'Herbalife Bangalore School Games 2012' was declared open by Mr Metod Klemenc, Founder International Children Games – Children's Olympics,  Renowned personalities from the sports faternity like Reeth Abraham, Jude Felix, Ashwini Nachappa, Girisha, Vimal Kumar, MP Ganesh were present at the occasion to extend their support to this initiative.

For the first time in the country, children living with HIV/AIDS are participating, and had been the torch bearers for this event.
