It’s going to be “PEPSI IPL” for next 5 years

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 22, 2012 - It was Pepsi who had won the sponsorship rights of Indian Premier League for next five years, that starting from 2013. PepsiCo had won the sponsorship for Rs 396crores, which was almost double the amount, DLF had paid for first five years, DLF had hold the right of IPL for past five years, and they have bought it for 200crores i.e. exactly 40crores an year. Now Pepsi came forward to pay 79crore for a year on averaging.

         The vice-president of PepsiCo Deepika warrier, who had defended the price of the deal, said that, they really believe in this property and they also believe that this was a big brand that the BCCI has been able to build. Warrier added that this was absolutely a game-changing format.

         The Indian cricket board had fined KINGS XI for not legitimizing their team. The team was fined about Rs 1crore by the IPL for not informing the cricket board about the transformation of stakes of the owners to another company.  

         The first owner formed a company and had transferred the shares without informing the Indian cricket board. Now after paying the fine of Rs 1crore, the team will be playing in the upcoming IPL-6.

         The most interesting, auction of players for the respective team participating in IPL-6 will be conducted in Chennai or Kolkata. If it’s decided as Chennai then the auction date will be January 12, 2013. If the venue is Kolkata, then the auction day will be delayed by 8 days.

         Decision about Pakistani players participating in the IPL will be taken in the meeting that will hold before the date of auction. Pakistan players who played at the first edition of IPL were kept out of the player auction since Mumbai attack at 2008.
