QuisLex to Participate in Debate at IQPC Information Governance & eDiscovery Strategy Exchange

Panel of Experts Will Focus on the Benefits and Drawbacks of Using Predictive Coding

PRLog - Nov. 21, 2012 - New York – QuisLex, a premier offshore provider of legal support services, announced today that its Executive Director of Litigation Services, Andrew Goodman, will participate in a panel discussion entitled “This House Believes That Manual Review Is Not the Holy Grail: The Pros and Cons of Technology-Assisted Review” at the upcoming IQPC Information Governance & eDiscovery Strategy Exchange in Munich, Germany. The session will take place on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 5:15 p.m. at the Hilton Munich Park Hotel.

Technology-assisted review is gaining traction after receiving judicial approval in several landmark cases this year. In a recent eDiscovery Journal survey, approximately one-third of respondents acknowledged using predictive coding; another 28% of those not yet employing this technology plan to do so within the next year.

“The recent decisions in the U.S. regarding predictive coding highlight the benefits of using technology to help review large volumes of electronically stored information,” said Goodman. “However, the defensibility of a party’s approach to document review will depend ultimately on a combination of the effective use of technology, overall substantive management of the review and the quality control mechanisms that are employed.”

Goodman will be part of a panel of distinguished judges and thought leaders that includes Judge James Francis, U.S. Magistrate Judge, Southern District of New York; Master Steven Whitaker, Senior Master of the Senior Courts in the Queen’s Bench Division, The Royal Courts of Justice; and Katey Wood, Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. Vivian Tero, Program Director, Governance, Risk & Compliance Infrastructure, IDC will moderate. The panel will divide into two teams to debate the pros and cons of technology-assisted review compared to manual review. The panel will also field questions from the audience, inviting them to participate in the debate and gain a better understanding of predictive coding’s methodology, costs, potential ROI, and results.

The Information Governance & eDiscovery Strategy Exchange offers general counsel and heads of e-discovery, litigation, records management, and compliance departments an opportunity to share best practices and network with other leaders in a customized format. “We are especially pleased to be participating in this event as companies and law firms in the E.U. and U.K. are increasingly engaging QuisLex to help them deal with large volumes of data,” added Goodman. “This event provides a great opportunity to expand our presence in this key market.”

The conference will be held November 27-29, 2012 in Munich. To learn more about the conference, please visit http://www.ediscovery-exchange.com. For more information about QuisLex, please visit http://www.QuisLex.com.
