Participants will be engaged for two sessions as they gain an understanding for the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Unified Process.

The main objective of the Learning Use Cases and UML workshop is to teach participants modeling techniques that are used for requirements gathering, project planning and scoping. The first session will open up with an introduction on UML Concepts, what terms to be familiar with and the major diagrams that support UML. Business systems analysis students will also receive an overview of the project life cycle, including the project statement and requirements analysis. The first session will wrap up with case study exercises that use skills to build use case diagrams, swimlanes and workflow diagrams.
Session two has the same format, combining both hands-on exercises and discussions in a virtual format. Business systems analysis students will delve deeper and discover the analysis and design methodology steps and artifacts. The second session wraps up with case study exercises where students will write system use cases for the Design Phase of the project as well as build a State Diagram using UML. When the two-day workshop is completed, students will feel comfortable using UML and Use Cases during the development phase of a project. This information is pertinent in understanding how the project life cycle fits together.
All business systems analysis courses offered through Pierson Requirements Group provide CDUs, PDUs and certificates upon successful completion of the course. The cost of the course is $750.00 per participant, and there are group discounts provided for workplaces and organizations. The workshop holds a maximum of ten participants and can be taken on an individual or group level. More classes can be scheduled upon request.
