-- Each body shape has its own fashion “requirements”
in order to create the right proportions. For example, “if your body type is Pear shaped, it means that your bottom is wider than your bust, and when you look for clothes you should look for clothes that give you the right proportions, while enhancing the waist”, explains Irina Quintela, founder of Styling Up. In this example, Styling Up’s website advises that women with a Pear shaped body should look for tops and jackets with embellishments in the shoulder, V or U necklines that enhance the waistline and trousers or pants that fall straight, right from the biggest hip area.
The online calculator is pretty easy to use. First, just take your bust, waist and hip measurements (in inches or cm). Then, go to the body shape calculator page (visit http://stylingup.com/body-type/
) and input those measurements in the proper fields. And that’s it. The calculator will then redirect the user to the proper result. Styling Up defined six main body shapes: Hourglass, Pear, Straight, Inverted Triangle, Diamond and Oval body type.
Besides this body type calculator, Styling Up also provides clothes and full outfit recommendations by fashion stylists, not just according to body type but also size, because sizes can really vary, from retailer to retailer.
