Johnny The Oldies Singer- Long Island's own top live performer for 2012 has announced that his 2012 holiday shows will be dedicated to pay tribute and honor to what he has called " songs of the all time greats". Johnny has devoted two full pages of his website www.oldiessinger.com to both holiday and standard mega hits of stars such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Johnny Mathis, Englebert Humperdink, Elvis, Bobby Darin, Perry Como and many more. Johnny traces his roots in show business to the streets of New York City where as a teenager he began his singing career as a street corner acapella doowop lead singer. Over the years, Johnny developed an appreciation for the more traditional standards and has adopted his vocalist library to include his impressionist interpretation of the songs of those performing artists. In the decades following, Johnny has performed at countless events including New York's well known "Make Music New York" in which Johnny most recently appeared at Central Park's Mineral Springs. He regularly performs at Anniversary Parties, Reunions, Birthday Parties, Holiday parties and Seniors events. Johnny is a veteran of the US Navy in which he served during the Viet Nam War. He's married the father of two and the grandfather of two. Johnny offers complimentary performances for veterans and childrens causes and has been an avid supporter and volunteer for St. Jude Children's hospital for which he performed a very successful benefit concert in June 2012.
