PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 21, 2012 - GTC is proud to present the Immune Responses in Tumor Microenvironment Workshop  on Jan 30, 2013 in San Diego, CA.  

The Immune Responses in Tumor Microenvironment workshop is a half-day seminar occurring one day prior to the 5th Immunotherapeutics & Immunomonitoring Conference.

This workshop is intended for researchers and scientists who are conducting preclinical or clinical studies in the field of tumor immunology and interested in the role of the tumor microenvironment in anti-tumor immunity as well as cancer progression.  Leading experts from the scientific and clinical arenas and industry will present on novel findings and developments in the constantly changing area of immunotherapy, as they relate to tumor microenvironment.  

Presentations featured in this workshop will provide insight into: the role of the tumor on the modulation of the microenvironment and its effect on immune responses; the role of inflammation and various cellular components of the immune response in fostering tumor growth and progression; and potential strategies to modulate signaling loops between the tumor and immune components for improvement of anti-tumor interventions

Workshop speakers include: Jose Guevara-Patiño, Associate Professor at Loyola University; Claudia Palena, Investigator at National Cancer Institute; Pavel Pisa, Head of Translational Medicine at Roche Glycart AG; Farbod Shojaei, Principal Scientist at Pfizer; and Judith Varner, Professor at University of California, San Diego.
