Local Deckbuilder wins national award

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 20, 2012 - Decksouth, an Atlanta based custom design and build firm took home top awards at the National Deck Competition in Baltimore, MD on October 10th.  Including first place for “Best Alternative Deck under 500 square feet”.  Decksouth was one of many builders from across the country competing for the prestigious awards.  The event showcases design, construction and craftsmanship of custom decks built using both natural hardwoods and synthetic materials. The national event was highlighted at the Annual Deck Expo and Remodeling Conference and sponsored by the North American Deck & Railing Association (NADRA).

The award wining project includes a custom curved watertight deck, a custom aluminum spiral staircase, and a stone retaining wall.  The project includes products by Trex Transcend with a cedar handrail and cedar wrapped posts with custom arches that are illuminated with iLighting deck lights.  

Additionially, DECKSOUTH placed 3rd in the “Best Wood Deck under 500 square feet” with a brazilian hardwood deck with a custom firepit.
