Westway Ford Helps Host a Fun-Filled Drive One 4 UR School Event to Raise Money for THS

Nov. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Westway Ford recently hosted a Drive One 4 UR School Event at the THS homecoming. Participants helped support the school simply by taking test drives, and for every ride that was taken Ford Motor Company and Westway Ford donated $20. The Highlands School is privately funded, meaning that they do not receive any public funding, so this event was especially important for them. All money raised went directly to the school to help buy new equipment, improve classroom materials and more. Last year, the event had such a great turnout and was such a huge success that everyone was thrilled to do it again! Westway Ford’s General Manager, Barton Hankins, and dealership employees were proud to be a part of a program that gives back to local schools, and everyone looks forward to hosting another Drive One event in the future.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Drive One 4 UR School program began in 2007. Since its start, over 275,000 test drives have been taken at more than 1,500 events nationwide. The program has helped generate over $5 million for high schools across the country, money that has been used to help ensure that numerous extracurricular activities and programs continue in local communities. Here’s how it works: Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealerships partner with local schools to coordinate the test drive fundraising event. Then, for every valid test-drive taken, Ford Motor Company donates a set amount of money to the high school, and in this case, the Westway Ford dealership matched the amount. So, the more people who take a test drive the better!
