IVF Barcelona Acupuncture Support Service Open Christmas & New Year Period 2012

Nov. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Ruth Westnidge currently runs an acupuncture service at Barcelona city’s Carrer Muntaner, 382, in the 08006 postcode area. Part of her work includes sessions before and after local and international Barcelona IVF patients’ embryo transfer appointments.

“Barcelona IVF clinics are very busy and can book patients in at quite short notice. So I try to be as flexible as possible, including offering late or early appointments weekdays and Saturdays/ Sunday whenever possible. I’m also letting everyone know that my services are only closing on 30th November, 1st and 2nd Dec and then again on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I am working as normal throughout the rest of the Christmas and New Year period. I’m very happy to be able to offer people an appointment in English and I can book them a taxi if they need. Ruth works at Studio Kinetic, Carrer Muntaner, 382, 08006 Barcelona, within a short taxi ride to the more popular Barcelona IVF clinics. There is also a good underground train service (known as the ferrocarriles, or FGC trains) running from the Muntaner station less than one minute away.

Ruth is an overseas member of the British Acupuncture Council, meaning her work must comply to strict codes of hygiene. She graduated from Middlesex University’s four year full time BSc Traditional Chinese Medicine degree in London, UK. As well as training with tutors drawn from China’s integrated hospital system (where acupuncture is practiced as well as conventional modern medicine) she also spent a period studying in China. She has also completed post-graduate training at London’s Westminster University. Before training at Middlesex, Ruth was a qualified ear acupuncturist (from the Ear Acupuncture Register maintained by the Yuan Traditional Medicine College, London). This helps when working with IVF embryo transfer support acupuncture, as certain ear points are considered part of a widely used ‘protocol’ of points for the day of the transfer. These points have been used by acupuncturists specialising in fertility such as the UK’s well-known Zita West. This selection of points began with landmark studies completed in the early 2000s. The studies were replicated by other researchers and as a result the selection is use in many acupuncture centres today throughout Europe.
