Nov. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- CHICAGO IL - The Uncommon Ground, 1401 W. Devon Avenue presents the SuperStorm Sandy Benefit Concert on Thursday, December 20 at 8:00pm. A $10+ donation is suggested. All donations are accepted and will directly support the American Red Cross relief effort currently taking place in the regions affected by Hurricane Sandy.

This three-hour concert will feature artists from Chicago’s vibrant acoustic scene, many of whom perform regularly at Uncommon Ground, and will include Jenny & Robin Bienemann, Mark Dvorak, Al Rose, Emily White, Donna Adler, and Linda M. Smith, as well as many other musicians and singer/songwriters.

"The folk community in Chicago has a tradition of responding in times of need," said event organizer and Folk Alliance Region Midwest board member Sue Fink. "The response to this show so far has been overwhelming."

The Uncommon Ground opened in 1990 and has since become Chicago’s center for singer-songwriters and acoustic music.

"The music room at the Devon location is very lovely," said Fink. "It’s comfortable and sounds great. The food and service at Uncommon Ground is of course unmatched. We’re so pleased that (owner) Michael Cameron is supporting our effort. It promises to be a memorable evening."
