Evans and Stout launched the campaign October 21, 2012 to raise awareness of Charity Miles, a smart phone application that earns money for charity by tracking every mile a person runs, walks or bikes. See the event video http://www.ehandersonpr.com/
“My goal now is to help build awareness of Charity Miles in the franchising industry,” said Evans. “Many that walked in NYC will be at IFA and there are several franchise industry folks that could not attend and want to join us.”
The date and time for the second event will be announced in December. Until then, Evans suggests walkers and bikers download the app to begin helping charities immediately.
Bicyclists earn 10 cents per mile; walkers and runners earn 25 cents per mile; all up to one million dollars, courtesy of corporate sponsors. Anyone with a smartphone can download the app charitymiles.org/
Gurkoff was a guest on Social Geek Radio in September after Stout learned about the app.
