Approximately eight students from IntelliTec’s Massage Therapy program spent time every Tuesday throughout October at the CSU-Pueblo Pack House, providing 30 minute massages to participating football players. Students not only massaged the players, but also performed stretches while discussing proper stretching techniques with them.

IntelliTec Massage Students received class credit and a lot of vital experience for their participation in the sports massages at CSU. Associate Dean of Faculty and Massage Program Supervisor Shonna Dent says, “this opportunity has really made an impression on our students in the fact that they feel more comfortable providing sports massage to real athletes. Our students feel more confident in their skills.” The massage program has also decided to invite some of the CSU Football players to the school for this year’s upcoming "sports massage week."

CSU Athletic Trainer Roger Clark said these weekly massages have “helped with working out some of the muscle soreness the players have developed throughout the week of practice and from the games on Saturday. The massages have also been beneficial in relieving soreness and muscle tightness in some of the player's neck and shoulder region. The football players are very appreciative of the massages.”
Clark shared the feelings of the football players:
"The massages are Big Time!"
"The massages really help in decreasing my soreness following games"
"I look forward to these Tuesday massages"
