LUXURY HAWAI’I RESORTS OFFER SPECIAL RATES
TO FILM BUFFS AND OCEAN LOVERS

Once a year opportunity for
WAIMEA OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL (January 3-11, 2013)
pass holders to experience the Big Island’s top resorts for less!

November 20, 2012 (Kamuela, Hawai’i) – This January, escape the winter chill and experience luxury for less at four upscale hotels. For a limited time, Waimea Ocean Film Festival pass holders will receive discounts at Four Seasons Resort Hualālai, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Hapuna Prince Resort, and the Fairmont Orchid – all located on the famed Kohala Coast of Hawai’i Island, the Big Island of Hawai’i.

Hawai’i is an island paradise for travelers and these resorts are listed among the top in world. Four Seasons Resort Hualālai at Historic Kaupulehu is the first and only Forbes Five-Star resort on Hawai’i Island. The legendary Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, situated in exquisite Kauna’Oa Bay, was the first resort built by Lawrence Rockefeller in the 1960’s, and still maintains all the legendary Rockefeller grace and flair. The Hapuna Prince Resort, sister property to the Mauna Kea, sits on the soft white sand Hapuna Beach. And the Fairmont Orchid offers elegant accommodations, progressive standards in eco-friendly hotel operations, and a variety of fine dining options amid the natural beauty of the Big Island.

The Festival will be held January 3-6, 2013, in the town of Waimea on the Big Island, and along the Kohala Coast. The festival will move on to Four Seasons Resort Hualālai January 8-11, 2013. In it’s third year, the Festival has brought new and important cinematic works by filmmakers from around the world. This popular event immerses participants in a greater understanding and awareness of the ocean and island culture.

With screenings of 30 to 40 exceptional and award-winning films, breakfast talks, Q&A sessions with filmmakers, panel discussions, exhibits, receptions, a ‘Taste of the Island’ event, and early morning activities, such as yoga on the beach, and outrigger canoe lessons, the festival keeps participants on their toes, and presents many opportunities for dialogue and interaction with filmmakers and speakers.

“We’re proud to be partners again in the Waimea Ocean Film Festival, “says Robert Whitfield, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Resort Hualālai. “The works and events presented within this festival are inspiring, entertaining and quite frankly a lot of fun.”

The Waimea Ocean Film Festival would like to thank all of its 2013 Film Festival partners, including: Go Pro, San Disc Foundation, Four Seasons Resort Hualālai, The Fairmont Orchid, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Hapuna Prince Resort, West Hawaii Today, Big Island Weekly, Hawaii Preparatory Academy (HPA), Big Island Brewhaus, Redwater Cafe, Parker School, gaiacreative, Ke Ola Magazine, Joe Fagundes III (Kona Law), and Starbucks Coffee.

TICKET INFORMATION – Film, Event, Contributors and Hualālai passes for the festival are on sale now.  Passes may be purchased online at www.waimeaoceanfilm.org or by calling the festival office at 808.854.6095.
