BT has admitted liability for hearing loss caused by green and un-modified yellow tone sets and have already paid out hundreds of thousands of pounds in compensation. However, the company have said that they may argue that any claim made after 31st December 2012 will be out of time.
It is essential that BT engineers and former BT engineers do not delay and contact NewLaw as soon as possible.
Cenric Clement-Evans, solicitor at NewLaw, said: “BT deafened its engineers without telling them they were being exposed to high noise levels. Now BT is imposing time limits on making claims, again without telling its engineers or former engineers. This adds insult to the original injury that BT engineers have suffered, and is wrong. They are entitled to compensation, including the cost of hearing aids and treatment.
“Anyone who has worked for BT and has problems with their hearing should get in touch with NewLaw as soon as possible by calling our helpline or by sending us an email. We provide no-obligation assessments which are free and confidential. Our team are experts in dealing with compensation claims against BT”
