Steffan Manno of Giamano's Ristorante prepares food for "Locals Feeding Locals"
After years of organizing "community dinners" in Asbury Park on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, Steffan and Jillian Manno knew their fantastic support team of staff, customers, suppliers, friends, Asbury Park firehouse, and the Food Bank, would support this effort.
“These families are our own, our friends, our neighbors, our shore. At this time when many have found their homes not livable and are at the moment tearing what is left of them down, we found ourselves asking what can we do? Not one time... Let's make it count. So, after talking with our own children, they said, ‘let's feed families’! The heart and soul of our community can reach out either to someone you know or even don't know directly through this program and bring families to the table”, says Steffan Manno, owner and head chef of Giamano’s.
“The response has been so positive from families in need, our supporters and volunteers. It’s our responsibility to take care of each other and providing this much needed nutrition during this stressful time is crucial.” states Michele Gannon.
