Innovation, Strategy, Design, and Rollout of Major IT Initiatives – A Free Forum on Windows 8

Nov. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Windows 8 and its role in major information technology initiatives, innovation and strategy will be the discussion of a free community forum sponsored by the Government Technology Institute at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology in PA.

Scheduled for 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 14, the free event is entitled: "Innovation, Strategy, Design, and Rollout of Major IT Initiatives – A Community Forum on Windows 8."

Sponsored by Microsoft, the forum will feature two senior executives from Microsoft: Dan Kasun and Wole Moses.

Dan Kasun is the Senior Director of Developer and Platform Evangelism for U.S. Public Sector at Microsoft. Dan and his teams are responsible for evangelizing how new technologies can be applied in the government, healthcare, and education industries, providing readiness and guidance to developers, and working directly with agencies, ISVs, organizations and partners to help ensure success for solutions built on the Microsoft platform. Additionally, his organization works with schools, faculty, and students to build enthusiasm and competency for Computer Science education and technical career development.

He has been with Microsoft for more than 16 years, and joined the Microsoft Public Sector business in 2009. During his tenure, he has worked with customers of all sizes - from small developer organizations to large enterprises in a variety of industries (Financial Services, Healthcare, Government, and Education). He is a frequent speaker at Microsoft and industry events – specializing in all areas of application development and technical architecture. Prior to Microsoft, he was an application developer and architect in the Financial Services Industry.


Wole Moses has worked for Microsoft for over 13 years in a variety of field and corporate headquarter roles. He spent several years working in technical sales in Washington DC, 4 years working for Microsoft Middle East and Africa (based in Istanbul Turkey and Dubai UAE), and for the past 3 years has worked on Microsoft’s Headquarter and US Windows Marketing Team where he was responsible for product management and marketing for Windows 7 and Windows 8. He is currently responsible for Windows Marketing for US Public Sector.

This event is one in a series of Community Technology Forums for the benefit of the region through the Government Technology Institute at HU. The GTI provides education and training for government IT employees through courses, seminars and certification programs, such as the Certified Government Chief Information Officer Program.
