Little Women's Christmas- Celebrate with a Valrhona Chocolate and Bollinger on Jan 6th 2013

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 19, 2012 - The Irish tradition of Women's Christmas (Nollaig na mBan), and sometimes Women's Little Christmas is still very much alive in counties Cork (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/County_Cork) and Kerry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/County_Kerry).  

For those of you unfamiliar with this custom it is so calledbecause of the men taking on all the household duties for the day on January 6thso that the traditionally exhausted ladies could hold parties or go out to celebrate the day with their friends, sisters, mothers, and aunts.

Times have indeed changed with men a lot more hands-on these days, but we like our traditions so if you fancied spoiling your mum, wife or special lady in your life to a relaxing day and treating yourself at the same time then your table awaits!

On Sunday, January 6th The Aghadoe Heights Hotel & Spa willthrow open the doors from 12.30pm and welcome all with a warm smile and gracious service.     Guests will be entertained from the moment they arrive by the resident pianist and will enjoy a fabulous glass of Bollinger served with lunch.

Sunday lunch consists of a decadent and delicious array dishes including a choice of 5 STARTERS (sample dishes-Slivers of Fossa Smoked Salmon Salad, light Hennessy infused mayonnaise; Breast of Chicken Caesar Salad warm bacon lardons, Parmesan cheese bound in light Caesar dressingChicken Liver Parfait toasted brioche, fruit chutney & winter leaves) and 6 MAIN Courses (sample dishes such as; Roast Rack of Irish Pork

creamed potato, caramelized apple & cider essence; Roast Sirloin of Irish BeefYorkshire pudding, caramelized red onion horse radish crème fraiche & port essencechar grilled roasted vegetables and jus or Crisp Fillet of Codbuttered spinach, tomato,caper and bean salsa). The delicious meal ends with a Valrhona Chocolate Themed Dessert Buffet with a show stopping Chocolate Fountain.   Tea and coffee also included.

Priced at €35.00 per person which includes a glass of Bollinger, it’s irresistible!  Bookings made from 12.30-2.30pm and guests welcome to retire to the Heights Lounge post lunch to continue their day of relaxation.

In addition, the best dressed lady will go home with a cold bottle of Champagne, compliments of our kind friends at Bollinger.
