Blessed with slightly cooler atmosphere in an otherwise humid weather, the fair was attended by Filipinos who availed of the various services and lent their ears to community leaders who spoke about different advocacies. A medical mission gave free blood pressure and sugar level assessments, as well as eye check-ups. A team of former law enforcers and volunteers rendered eye-opening paralegal advices and self-defense lessons. Basic computer tutorials for Pinoys who wanted to broaden their technical skills, were offered by I.T. professionals.

The Ambassador of the Philippines to the U.A.E., Grace Relucio Princesa urged fellow Filipinos to be wiser in their earnings while working abroad by joining the discussions of the movement aptly named Pinoy Wise (or Worldwide Initiative for Investment, Savings and Entrepreneurship)

The Kabayan Fair Serbisyo fair was conducted also in celebration of TV Patrol’s 25th anniversary and Balitang Middle East’s 10th year of news reporting and public service. The highlight of the daytime activities was the launch of Philippines’
Over 500 Filipinos took on the challenge of improving the welfare of their beloved motherland and compatriots by registering as citizen patrollers. Interestingly, more than one hundred of the registrants were high school students. It was a clear indication that the Filipino youth, no matter how far they are from the Philippines, are still eager to be involved in affairs concerning the society.

The fair was not only limited to information and public service. An exciting dance workshop was organized by a group of renowned dance enthusiasts. Homegrown performers who call the U.A.E. their home away from home, proudly showcased their talents as well.
At nightfall, the Kapamilya stars came down to Abu Dhabi from their celestial place in Philippine entertainment. The ASAP Pinoy Champs namely Yeng Constantino, Angeline Quinto, Jovit Baldovino and Marcelito Pomoy collectively won over the hearts of the audience. The singers showed versatility in their repertoire, veering away from their more common sound and surprising everyone with their own takes on novelty and rocks songs. The event was made possible by Wall Street Exchange and Nissan, in association with Toshiba, Knorr, Alicafe, SMDC, Sky Frieght forwarders. It was also brought by Lady’s Choice and Emami Fair and Handsome, and powered by Al Masaood Automobiles.
Managing Director of ABS-CBN Middle East & Europe Edgardo Garcia shared to the members of the press that the unique community-entertainment concept is aimed to “help educate the Filipinos here on how they could realize their dreams and remind them of the reasons why they are working overseas.” In this journey he says, TFC is always there to support them.
