The highly anticipated performance is part of Tiësto’s Club Life College Invasion Tour, and in addition to Tiësto will feature acclaimed EDM (electronic dance music) talents ZEDD and Allure.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome one of the world’s most talented and respected DJs to Tucson, and are thrilled to host what we believe will be the largest, most spectacular show our city has ever seen,” said Adam Richman, CEO and Founder of The Big Room Group, an event production company responsible for bringing some of the largest music events to the region including N9NE Fest, DAYGLOW, and performances by renowned DJs Benny Benassi and Avicii.
Scheduled on what University of Arizona students call “Dead Day Eve,” popularly known as the last night of revelry prior to final exams, ticket sales for Tiësto’s December 5th performance have soared. An initial offering of five hundred discounted student tickets sold out in less than twenty-four hours, and the remaining standard-priced tickets are expected to do the same. Approximately 5,000 fans are expected.
“Without question, this will be the most incredible EDM event Tucson has ever seen,” Richman added. “Not only will fans be astounded by the talent and energy that Tiësto, ZEDD and Allure deliver, the audience experience will be heightened ten-fold by the superior sound, video, lighting and special effects we have in store. It is beyond what we’ve ever done, and without a doubt an experience not to be missed.”
Tiësto, singled out in 2011 as “The Greatest DJ of All Time” by Mixmag, has established himself as one of the world’s most in-demand names in the electronic music genre. With achievements that include a GRAMMY nomination, a performance at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, and collaborations with artists such as Kanye West, Coldplay, Gotye, and Katy Perry, Tiësto has without a doubt become a true worldwide phenomenon.
