Police dogs in Massachusetts are first priority, followed by New England Area police dogs and dogs throughout the United States. Each vest costs $1006. In most cases, law enforcement agencies do not have the budget to cover the life saving ballistic vest for the K9s. In September of 2012, Vested Interest in K9s, hit a milestone, donating over $100,000 in vests to law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. Vested Interest in K9s President, Sandy Marcal, is hoping to provide at least 10 police dogs with bullet and stab protective vests with the proceeds. “We hope that animal lovers in the area will unite to support Vested Interest in K9s. and join in the holiday spirit.” For more information about Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., visit www.vik9s.org or call 508-824-6978.
