"The Dooples" introduces basic reading, writing, mathematics and social skills. Dr. Hunter's ultimate goal is to provide a full scale early learning program worldwide that will include additional animated films, books, character-based toys, theatrical plays and children's television programming. For the NYC audience, Dr. Hunter was interviewed by actor Frank Dicopoulos for the Manhattan Neighborhood Network in October and the airing date and time will be announced soon.
A "Meet The Dooples" Family Event was held on October 27th on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Throughout the day, parents and children met the author, played games, experienced "The Dooples" through various multi-media presentations and were entertained by a variety of guest readers, including the Mayor of the City of Asbury Park, Ed Johnson. The event was sponsored to benefit Autism Speaks of New Jersey. Additionally, in response to the devastation wrought to the area by Hurricane Sandy, Dr. Hunter donated several cases of her books to the children of Monmouth County. "The Dooples" is providing a valuable way for families to enjoy reading books and staying safe as they cope with difficult times.
