Follow on Google News | Cirro Energy Brings Dinosaurs To Life At Heard MuseumCirro Energy will power the 7th Annual Dinosaurs Live! exhibit at the Heard Natural Science Museum
By: Cirro Energy “The Heard Museum’s animatronic dinosaurs exhibit gives families and friends a fantastic, fun, educational activity to enjoy together,” said Cindi Wakefield, spokesperson for Cirro Energy. “By powering this important exhibit, we can educate the public on an amazing period in Texas’ natural history while showing them that the days of limited choices for electricity providers are as extinct as the dinos that roamed the area.” As part of the “Powered by Cirro Energy” exhibit, dinosaurs are situated along a half-mile nature trail including life-size animatronic dinosaurs and baby dinosaurs that kids can play on. Signs along the path give visitors the opportunity to learn interesting dinosaur facts as they not only see them move, but hear them, too. The dinosaur trail is jogging and stroller friendly. “The public can check out both herbivores and carnivores, including my favorite, the infamous Tyrannosaurus Rex,” explained Wakefield. “The beasts really come to life as they move and roar. It’s an amazing experience that stimulates the imagination and makes you feel like a kid again.” The exhibit includes an Acrocanthosaurus, Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Carnotaurus, Coelophysisa, a Dilophosaurus that “spits” water, an Edmontonia, Ornithomimuys, Parasaurolophus and the two baby dinosaurs. As part of the program, Cirro Energy will be integrated throughout the exhibit and Amphitheater. The museum’s indoor exhibit, Prehistoric Texas takes visitors through time periods starting from when life began and moving through early sea life, the forests of the carboniferous and up through the wild dinosaurs and sea monsters of the Cretaceous. Focusing on the Texas Cretaceous period, the exhibit illustrates the diversity of fossils found in Texas and explains why there was mostly aquatic prehistoric life in this area and few actual dinosaurs. The exhibit features a T-Rex and two Triceratops family dinosaur skulls, shark teeth and other fossils and collections. Kids can also walk through a Tylosaur cave and practice their skills in the kid’s activity room where they can learn about the fossilization process. The walls have a colorful mural of pre-historic dinosaurs and creatures painted by artists, Oksana Marchenko and Jane Burrell. No matter what your family's interests, the Heard Museum has something for everyone including the BUGS, Dinosaurs Live!, and Animals of the World exhibits. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the native plant garden and a 289-acre wildlife sanctuary with seven nature trails.
