Both programs highlight the best of the best in terms of products, services, toys, and games that make help with time management, playtime, creativity and just being together.
Armin Brott, founder of MrDad.com and bestselling author, says, “It’s tough to find activities that we can do with our kids, particularly as they get older. The Mr. Dad Seal of Approval Program was designed to help dads and their kids find the best products, services, toys and fun things that will help them come together. Every entry in the program has been fully tested by both dads and kids, so they definitely have what it takes.”
Paul Banas, founder of GreatDad.com, says, “Finding your balance in life, one that allows quality time with kids, can be tough. Having the right toys and products can really help, but which ones are good and which ones nothing more than a time suck? We search high and low for products and services that really make it easy for kids and dads to connect and spend the time together they need. Every product in the program makes it easier to be an involved, active dad.”
However, the ultimate decision on which products and services make the cut is not up to just Banas and Brott. Rather, a full panel of experts names the winners based on a broad range of criteria, including age appropriateness and the ability to improve the quality—and quantity—of time dads spend with their kids.
Past winners in these two awards programs include, among others:
All winners in the programs receive mentions on both MrDad.com and GreatDad.com, the two nationally leading blogs for fathers. In addition, all winners receive mention in Armin Brott’s nationally syndicated radio show and newspaper column, as well as Seal images that winners can use in a variety of ways, including on product packaging.
The deadline for applying is November 30, 2012, and applications may be submitted through mrdad.com/seal. Winners in both programs will be announced on December 9.
