The month formerly known as November is upon us and many of the males walking around the offices at G10 Global are sporting a little more facial hair than usual. This month is of course now known ‘Movember’
as people around the globe come together to raise money and awareness for men’s health issues and Managing Director George Kennedy has heaped praise on those taking part at G10 Global.
Established in 2003, ‘Movember’
originated in Melbourne, Australia. According to Movember & Sons “The goal was simple – to create a campaign promoting the growth of the moustache among likeminded people and having fun along the way. It is about real men, talking about real issues and changing the face of men’s health, one moustache at a time.” G10 Global understands that ‘Movember’
campaigns are now present in 21 countries around the globe raising vital funds, specifically for prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
According to Movember & Sons the rules of Movember are that “each Mo Bro must begin the 1st of Movember with a clean shaven face. For the entire month each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache. There is to be no joining of the mo to the sideburns (that’s considered a beard), there’s to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin (that’s considered a goatee) and each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman.” As a Direct Sales & Marketing company, G10 Global operate face to face with their customers and George Kennedy, MD at G10 Global believes ‘Movember’
is another great example of the power of personalized advertising. He explained: “We deal with people every day and our job is to get a message across not just in the things we say but the way in which we look, act and conduct ourselves. Anyone sporting a moustache this month is like a walking talking advertisement reminding men all over the world to really think about their health.”
Last year ‘Movember’
raised nearly £80 million worldwide and 2012 looks to be on track to beat that total. Given that 1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK, ‘Movember’
has quickly become an almost invaluable commercial tools for cancer charities and G10 Global are happy to be a part of it.
