“In 6 short months after our launch at MIT, we have been able to launch programs at Tufts, Northeastern , Harvard, and Brandeis University and have engaged over 2,000 recyclers to participate in our new program. This is just the beginning of diverting the over 8 million tons of bottles and cans from the landfill” said Shanker CEO of Greenbean.
“The Greenbean Machine is a wonderful enhancement to the Tufts Recycles! Program. We are only starting to scratch the surface of the machine’s ability to promote recycling through incentives such as financial rebates, social media influence, and charitable contributions.”
As a thank you, the company is launching new recycling challenges and promotions where students can win even more cash from sponsors sponsoring “winner takes all” challenges, earn double the value with 10 cent recycling days and recycle to win an IPAD.
Boloco, ZipCar, & Honest Tea are current challenge sponsors. Greenbean is seeking more socially conscious sponsors for future challenges.
