Follow on Google News | My Possibilities Organizes Second Annual Santa RunNon-Profit Sets Goal to Raise $125,000 for the Renovation of the Center’s New Facility Benefitting Disabled Adults
By: My Possibilities Presented by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, the 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15th from 8 a.m. to noon at The Shops of Legacy in Plano. In addition to Dr Pepper, the event has support from individuals and businesses throughout North Texas, including Pappy’s Pet Lodge, the sponsor the “Best Dressed Pet” award. “The community has been enormously supportive,” My Possibilities is excited to announce that Carrie McClure from Good Morning Texas will serve as host and emcee of the event, and Rep. Van Taylor (Texas House District 66) and Plano Mayor Phil Dyer will be the Honorary Santa’s on hand to open the event from the seat of a red hot sleigh, a sporty Porsche provided by sponsor Boardwalk Porsche. More than a fun run, this event includes entertainment, food and fun. Imaj Thomas, DFW’s own talented singer, songwriter, actress, novelist and humanitarian will provide participants with live music. And photo stations, a beer tent, food and drinks will be available to attendees. Awards and prizes will be given for Best Run Times, Best Modified Santa Suit, Most Spirited Team, Best Dressed Pet and Best Sleigh (wagon, wheel chair or stroller). The deadline to register online is Friday, Dec. 14th at 12 noon, but registration is also available the morning of the event. Registration can be made online at www.santaruntexas.org. No need to worry about finding a Santa suit, one comes with each event registration!
