Retailers in the US have managed to prepare really attractive notebook computer deals for their customers, with the cheapest laptop priced at only $179.00. That's Walmart's Black Friday price for the Compaq Presario CQ58-bf9WM with a 15.6-inch display, the very basic AMD C-60 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. It is followed by the 189.99-dollar (Best Buy) Lenovo G585 – 59345756 with the same screen size, RAM, and HDD, but the slightly better AMD E-300 chip. If processing power is a matter of concern for you, Asus X401A-BHPDN37 with the far better Intel Pentium B980 processor, 4GB of system memory, and a 320GB hard disk will be sold for $249.99 at Best Buy. However, it has a slightly smaller 14" display and lacks an optical drive.
If you want a full blown Intel Core i3 processor, which is better than the Pentium, it's good to know that Dell Home store will sell the Dell Inspiron 14z with an i3 chip, 4GB RAM, and a 500GB hard disk drive for $299.99.
On the higher but still affordable end, we have the 15.6-inch HP Envy M6-1125DX with the Intel Core i5-3210M from the latest Intel 3rd Generation Core processor family, 8GB of main memory, and a 750GB hard disk for $499.99 at Best Buy.
The Acer Aspire V5-571P-6648 15.6-incher has a weaker Intel Core i3-2377M 2nd Generation processor, 4GB RAM, and a 500GB HDD, but it does provide touchscreen capability, making Windows 8 much more usable.
By the way, the vast majority of this years Black Friday and Cyber Monday laptops come with Windows 8 operating system.
