New England Ghost Towns, 2013 Calendar
PRLog (Press Release) -
Nov. 15, 2012 - David Fiske has put together a very interesting and unusual calendar using photographs taken while on excursions to abandoned places in New England (
Connecticut,
Maine,
Massachusetts,
New Hampshire,
Rhode Island, and
Vermont). It is available from lulu.com.
The picturesque calendar includes scenes from the former Perkins Township at Swan Island, Maine; the decommissioned Fort Baldwin at Phippsburg, Maine, the old iron works at Mine Hill Preserve in Roxbury, Connecticut;
a long-abandoned mill at Gay City State Park in Hebron, Connecticut;
an elaborate retaining wall at Dana Common near Petersham, Massachusetts;
remains of the Marble Palace at Ashintully Gardens in Tyringham, Massachusetts;
a cemetery in the woods at Little River State Park in Waterbury, Vermont; a crumbling iron furnace at Furnace Grove in Bennington, Vermont; an old well from Monson Center in New Hampshire; the ruins of a staircase from Madame Sherri’s Castle in Chesterfield, New Hampshire; a scene from Napatree Point at Westerly, Rhode Island; and a cellar hole at George B. Parker Woodland in Coventry, Rhode Island.
The calendar is now available at a discounted price of just
$14.39 (20% off its list price of $17.99). At the reduced price--and with online ordering--it makes for an affordable and convenient solution to holiday shopping hassles.
