Andrew Bieber Named October 2012 GTM Sportswear Athlete of the Month

Nov. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- GTM Sportswear® and the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) are pleased to announce senior golf player Andrew Bieber as the GTM Sportswear Athlete of the Month for October 2012.  He will be recognized at a press conference at Gilmore Academy, Gates Mills, OH on Nov. 15, 2012 at 8 a.m.

Bieber qualified for the U.S. Open sectional at age 16 and won the Ohio State Championship in 2011 and 2012.

“My coaches have been such an inspiration to me these past four years and have had a tremendous influence on the player and the person that I’ve become,” he said.

Bieber’s best friend introduced him to golf at the age of eight and his love for the game quickly grew. He thanked his friend and the Gilmore Academy community, at large, for their support.

Bieber has worked hard off the fairway too. He maintains a 3.94 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society and won the Washington and Lee Book Award. Bieber committed to Duke University’s golf program for the fall of 2013.

NHSCA and GTM Sportswear honor one deserving high school athlete each month from September 2012 through April 2013.  NHSCA coaches nominate commendable athletes through the NHSCA website.  Each month, six finalists are selected by the NHSCA and presented via ballot to a group of high school sports writers, high school coaches and NHSCA and GTM Sportswear representatives to choose the winner.  Out of the eight recipients of the monthly award, one athlete will be chosen as the GTM Sportswear Athlete of the Year in May 2013.
