Nov. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY—Imagine dealing with the excruciating death of a loved one only to find out later that negligence was the cause of their demise? Alexia Fraser knows all too well. This is her story. . .

Before stepping behind the wings to embrace center stage, actress/glamazon, Alexia Fraser honed her skills as an actress at the prestigious H.B. Studio, introducing herself to the world as an aspiring actress while working as an extra on the set of "Cosby Mysteries" with Bill Cosby, "New York Undercover" alongside Malik Yoba, "Central Park West" with Lauren Hutton, and the "Prince Street" series with Mariska Hargitay. Alexia continued to evolve her passion for acting and produced three original non-fiction one act plays both off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway-- "The Ryans," "Dope the Endeavor,” and "Blind Trust,” which she starred in.

Many of Alexia’s greatest memories involved her mother, Daphne Monica Spence, as every day spent with her was filled with her shimmering pearls of wisdom, spoken with soft conviction and a warm smile. Then on May 7, 2006, Alexia received a phone call that changed her life-- mom was not passing any fluids and was bleeding internally. After her mother’s dearly departed death, Alexia was not only left with the mourning of picking up the broken pieces, but also the alarming realization that her mother’s passing away was a result of improper medical diagnosis, and poor nursing care.

Alexia Fraser tells her compelling story, and like the clusters of a rare diamond, shares her radiant treasure-- to unite women all around the world to grab their mother close and celebrate her radiance. Memories of Mom (M.O.M.) is a poignant story about an extraordinary mother, written by a daughter who loved and cared for her during her last lap of life. M.O.M. is a story of universal love, unyielding sacrifice, and compassionate role reversal, and will inspire love and affection in millions of daughters and sons who will someday be caring for their elderly parents or loved ones.

“The driving force behind writing Memories of Mom,” Alexia reveals in regards to her first memoir, “was to preserve and share the loving memories of my beloved mother,” she reveals. “I also felt it was my duty to tell my mother’s side of the story—especially after seeing how she suffered due to unacceptable nursing and hospital care,” she says. “Memories of Mom is not just my story—it’s our story,” Alexia says. “How many of us have watched our loved ones suffer due to the hand of negligence? This story was my healing therapy, and perhaps it can be someone else’s too.”

Memories of Mom is now available on Alexia Fraser’s new and improved website: www.alexiafraser.com and at fine retail locations across the country such as Barnes & Noble.com and Amazon.
