Gannon Associates is presenting sponsor for Tunkhannock Pa.'s "Christmas in Our Hometown"

Nov. 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Regional Insurance Agency Gannon Associates will again serve as the Presenting Sponsor for Tunkhannock’s Christmas in Our Hometown, December 7 & 8, according to Mark Monsey, Tunkhannock Business and Professional Association board president.

         “We are pleased to announce that Gannon Associates is partnering with us again for this important community project,” relates Monsey.  “Without this major sponsorship, we would not be able to host the large number of activities that make up the annual holiday tradition.  There are many costs associated with making “Christmas in Our Hometown” possible.  From the various events, decorations and associated advertising, Gannon’s sponsorship helps to maintain the event that people throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond have come to count as part of their annual holiday festivities.”

         Gannon’s Chief Operating Officer, Mark Gannon explains “Our success is largely due to the fact that we love helping people.  We also love the communities we live in.  Christmas in Our Hometown is a big part of our community and it’s an event we look forward to every year.  We are honored to be a part of this great tradition.”

         Gannon Associates was founded in 1974 with one office and three employees.  Today, the business is comprised of 10 offices, over 75 employees and is one of the most diverse independent insurance agencies in the Eastern United States.  

         This year’s  Christmas in Our Hometown celebration is Friday December 7 from 5 – 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 8 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Special attractions include Santa and Mrs. Claus, model train displays, trolley rides, horse drawn wagon rides, Living window entertainment, carolers, Ice Carvings, and a free Christmas movie, workshop and cookie walk at the Dietrich.    

         Many area businesses and community organizations also play a large role in the success of the annual event.  Businesses and organizations provide free snacks and beverages along the two blocks of historic Tioga Street.  “The true spirit of the holidays is certainly present in Tunkhannock as we welcome the holidays,” concludes Monsey.
