The Super Lawyers® selection process is a comprehensive and detailed attempt to produce a list of some of the most outstanding attorneys that have earned a high degree of peer recognition. These attorneys have also demonstrated high ethical standards and a degree of achievement in their field of practice.
Super Lawyers® selects candidates through a rigorous, multiphase rating process. Each attorney is carefully evaluated on twelve indicators of peer recognition and professional accomplishments. In the end, the ultimate goal is to produce a credible list of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a reliable resource by consumers and other attorneys looking for quality legal counsel.
The attorney-led research staff searches for lawyers that have attained unique and respected honors, accreditations and accomplishments, all of which indicate a high level of peer recognition and true professional competence. The research department reviews the attorney’s professional achievements and this may include any awards, pro bono work as an attorney, special licenses or certifications, community service, scholarly lectures and writings, and other notable achievements. Furthermore, each candidate is carefully evaluated for any disciplinary or criminal proceedings taken against them.
While up to 5 percent of attorneys in a state are selected as Super Lawyers®, not more than 2.5 percent of attorneys are selected as Rising Stars℠. Attorney Brandon Hudson is proud to have been selected to the Texas Rising Stars℠ list for both 2012 and 2013, and this is a testament to the fact that his hard work defending the rights of his criminal defense clients has not gone unnoticed.
