The bond amount required by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board is dependent on whether you hold a division I or II construction license. Division I licensees are applying for or currently hold a general contractor license, building contractor license, or residential contractor license. Division II licensees are applying for or currently hold a contractor license which is anything other than a division I contractor license.
Division I contractor licensees are required to post a $20,000 contractor license surety bond to the Construction Industry Licensing Board. Division II contractor licensees are required to post a $10,000 contractor license bond. However, DBL Surety can help reduce the required surety bond amount in half! You only need to take a 14 hour financial responsibility class which can be found here (http://www.dblsurety.com/
