WINTER MARKET & HOLIDAY FAIR
North West Denver’s 4th Annual Winter Market and Holiday Fair returns to Valdez Elementary on December 8th from 10-3. Begun in 2008 as a small group of individuals getting together to create holiday gifts, today it has grown into its own boasting over 30 local vendors, a free kids area, coffee bar and pictures with Santa by Alison Rose Photography.
In addition to an incredible collection of local vendors, such as MargoBelle Designs, Hip Violet, Tuffy Kickshaw and Spunk & Love, be sure to visit Valdez Elementary’s annual Pre-owned Toy and Book Sale. This is a superb opportunity to cross those last minute gifts off your list. The Market & Fair features artisans and boutique style businesses from our neighborhood and surrounding communities selling accessories, art and other unique giftable items. Visualize handcrafted calendars, gorgeous jewelry, tasty preserves, sweet caramels and fun gifts for kids… and you’ve got a pretty good idea of what’s in store. Our media partner, Yelp, will be on hand offering complimentary gift wrapping.
The Winter Market is equally adult and kid friendly. Kids music, and interactive activities to entertain the little ones on the Kids Stage sponsored by Health One Rose Women’s Care, will give you the perfect opportunity to break away from your partner to find them that perfect unique holiday gift. Don’t forget to check out the line-up of live music performances by Yo’ Mamas and Papas, Anya and the Music Train, and Rocky Mountain Aardvarks. The Free kids art and craft activity area is made possible by Amaryllis Therapy Network and No Boundaries Fitness will be providing festive storytime telling.
Partnering with Valdez Elementary’s annual Pre-owned Toy and Book Sale, this is a wonderful opportunity to both donate to and shop for gently used books, doll houses, dress up items, games and toys. Donations can be dropped off at the school during school hours, Monday through Friday at 2525 West 29th Avenue. Please contact Kristen at skywalkerspeth@
Come enjoy coffee by Laughing Latte and bring your appetite for a savory selection of baked goods. Basic Kneads will also be on site selling their delicious artisan pizzas. And be sure to get there early for a chance to get a picture with Santa. His reindeer leave at noon!
Winter Market supports the Tennyson Center for Children. Please remember to bring your gently used shoes elementary age through teenage sizes for the shoe drive. Bins will be provided by the front entrance on the day of the event.
The WMHF is a free neighborhood community gathering made possible by the sponsorships of our local businesses. Special thanks go out to North Denver Tribune. We’d also like to thank the Book Bar and Elizabeth Martinez of Porchlight Realty for partnering with us in encouraging people to buy local for the holidays. Other local sponsors include Highlands Dance Studio, Jennifer Feuerstein Massage and Mile High Organics.
