Knexus' Content Hub is an out-of-the-box solution which enables Brands & their customers to share great content experiences, either within an existing brand site or by creating a new online channel. Using a Content Hub, brands can easily bring together the best of their own content, customer content and automated feeds from social channels and bloggers, to deliver deeper, profitable online customer engagement. Content Hubs help brands increase sales, improve SEO performance and reduce marketing costs.
The latest ‘Firenze’ version of Content Hub includes a number of intriguing improvements and additions. Perhaps most eye-catching is the shift from a single Hub deployment option to allowing an unlimited number of Content Hubs. Using Knexus’ secure, central Engagement Console, which authorized marketers use to control their online customer engagement, you can quickly and easily create new Content Hubs using a simple point and click interface. When creating a new Content Hub, you define the preferred web address for your brand Hub and Knexus team automatically takes care of the set up. Using the same interface, you can also take a Content Hub offline within a matter of minutes. Although we didn’t test the entire process, the approach and interface were very easy to understand and use.
Whilst it’s not immediately obvious why a multi-deployment option is attractive, Knexus VP Customer Experience, Sherlyn Lee explained ‘we’re seeing that once our clients realise how easy it can be to pull together the best of their brand and customer content to create deeper and more profitable online customer engagement, there are lots of productive ways they want to use Content Hubs’. She continued, ‘for example, clients quickly and easily launch Campaign Hubs, Thought Leadership Hubs, Brand Content Hubs or Event Hubs. The Hubs can be embedded seamlessly in existing brand sites or stand alone’.
The Knexus team estimates brands can customize their Hubs from a standing start within half to one day, and without any technical resources. Based on a test drive using the set up feature in Knexus’ admin interface (Engagement Console), this seems realistic although of course it depends on how ambitious you want to be. It was fast and easy to load multi-format content and video was automatically converted. Feeds from Facebook, Twitter and other social channels are very simple to create from the interface, and again no technical knowledge was required. The drag & drop authoring tools made it easy enough to create different page layouts, although if you’re going to require a completely bespoke design then some designer input will be required.
One very helpful feature related to multi-Hub is the option to allocate an administrator to control one specific Content Hub only. You do this through the permissions settings on the Engagement Console, and set up takes only a matter of minutes. This means that a central brand or marketing person or team can have a complete view and control of all Content Hubs whilst individuals at a country or product level can take ownership of their specific Hub. In terms of both governance and operational efficiency, this seems like a simple but clever approach.
