This year Aveda are celebrating a five year anniversary of working with families in some of Nepal’s most rural areas.
Since 2008 Aveda has sourced over one million sheets of handmade paper from craftspeople in the country; fair prices, trade and consistent business has made a world of difference for 2,400 Nepalese families – women and children in particular. Aveda use Nepalese handmade paper to wrap their gift sets and it’s made by a workforce that’s made up 90% of women.
A regular income from papermaking means children can go to school, homes are improved and food and clothing can be bought. The positive impact is great.
