Bill Hobgood Becomes First IJIS Institute Associate

Nov. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- Ashburn, Va., November 13, 2012. The IJIS Institute, a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing for justice, public safety, and homeland security, announces that Bill Hobgood, interim Application Solutions division manager and project manager with the Public Safety Team of the Department of Information Technology for the City of Richmond, Virginia, has become the organization’s first Associate.

The new Associate Program extends participation in the IJIS Institute’s information sharing and national standards mission to employees of government agencies, non-profit organizations, and institutions of higher learning who were previously ineligible for membership. Associates of the IJIS Institute will be able to network with industry leaders and colleagues, obtain reduced registration fees for IJIS Institute events, and receive updates and news on information sharing and national standards impacting their work, among other benefits.

Mr. Hobgood said, “In the past, I have been invited by the IJIS Institute to work with them and their private sector members on several important projects. In particular, I am gratified to have participated on the External Alarm Interface Exchange project and the development of the Unified Computer Aided Dispatch Functional Requirements.” Hobgood further stated, “I am pleased that I will now be able to contribute as an Associate to an organization for which I have the greatest respect.”  

To join the Associate Program, a no-fee promotion will run until June 30, 2013, at which time the annual fee for new IJIS Institute Associates will become $95.
