PRLog - Nov. 12, 2012 - CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- Traton Homes is pleased to announce that they received seven awards at the 32nd OBIE Awards event on Saturday, November 3rd in Atlanta. Held annually by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, the OBIE Awards recognize achievement in building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories.
Ed Olwine, former pitcher for the Atlanta Braves (1986-1988) and a sales associate with Traton for over eight years, was named Salesperson of the Year. Winning Salesperson of the Year is further recognition of Olwine’s hard work and dedication to the Atlanta home building industry. For the past four years, he has been recognized in the New Homes-Top 5% by the Atlanta Board of Realtors, ranking number six in 2011 among all new home agents in Atlanta.
“Working at Traton Homes is like being part of a family and it is exciting to win this award not only for myself, but for the entire Traton team. I love guiding buyers through the process of purchasing their dream home. There is nothing better than seeing the happiness in their eyes when they receive the keys to their new home,” said Olwine.
After his time as a relief pitcher for the Braves, Olwine decided to stay in Atlanta where he ran into the agent who sold him his first home. He decided he was interested in the real estate business for his post-baseball career and Olwine has now been in the real estate business for more than 17 years. Since coming to Traton eight years ago, Olwine has sold at several communities ranging from Walden Park on Atlanta’s southside to his current community, The Estates of Fernwood Creek (mid $300,000s to low $500,000s) in Cherokee County. The Estates of Fernwood Creek has been a top performer since opening three years ago. Olwine sold out Phase 1 and is now well into selling Phase 2 of this community. In 2011, Olwine sold 21 homes for a total of $8.8 million in sales. So far in 2012, he has sold 22 homes.
In addition to Olwine’s accomplishment, Traton received three gold and three silver awards in various building and marketing categories.
