Makupson & Howard, originally founded by Carolyn A. Makupson, who has over 20 years of experience in the field of divorce and family law; she was joined by her daughter Kristen M. Attorney Makupson was an elementary school teacher for 13 years, a vice principal for two years, and a principal for one year. She has done a significant amount of pro bono work for the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, and from 1995 to 2003, she served on the Executive Committee for the Los Angeles Bar Association.
Before becoming a partner, attorney Kristen M. Howard served as a volunteer for the Los Angeles County Bar Pro Bono Domestic Violence Project and she volunteered for the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law Pro Bono Panel. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Pasadena Bar Association.
Attorney Erika R. Scheideman received her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law where she was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. While in law school, she interned for the Harriett Buhai Center for family law and she clerked for the firm. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Pasadena Bar Association.
