Nov. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Local middle school student Alex Watson and his father Robert, a professor at Lynn University, recently published Tsunami, a young adult novel, as part of their Let’s Write Together campaign.

The novel tells the story of young Isaac and Rebecca Sanders, who head to Hawaii for a family vacation, only to embark on the adventure of a lifetime when a violent earthquake triggers a massive tsunami. The kids find themselves separated from their parents in an outrageous struggle for survival.

Alex and Robert developed the idea of Let’s Write Together from a mutual love of reading, finding they could discuss the characters and compare their favorite parts of the book when they finished reading it. They encourage adults and children to read and write together, finding their experience to be such a positive one.

Alex Watson is a middle school student who was born in Hawaii, but now resides in Boca Raton, Florida. He enjoys hiking, playing music, and spending days at the beach, and hiked across the Hawaiian volcanoes described in Tsunami.

Alex’s father, Robert P. Watson, B.S., M.P.A., PH.D., is a professor, author, media commentator and community activist who joined the faculty of Lynn University in 2007 after spending 15 years teaching at other universities around the country. He has published more than 30 books and hundreds of scholarly articles, book chapters, and encyclopedia/reference essays.

Look for the launch of their website, www.letswritetogether.com in October 2012, featuring tips from the Father/Son writing duo, contests, awards and much more.
