(SFS) VP of Marketing & Sales, Murray Stacy, and Regional Sales Manager, David Poindexter, attended Inter-Noise 2012, the 41st International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering (http://www.internoise2012.com/)
, held in New York City on August 19th – 22nd. The Congress was sponsored by the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE), and was organized by the United States Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE-USA).
This event is one of the largest acoustics conferences and a worldwide consortium of organizations concerned with noise control, acoustics and vibration. The theme of the congress was “Quieting the World's Cities,” and featured special workshops highlighting city noise codes, and the New York City noise code in particular.
The conference was the largest InterNoise ever and featured 1063 technical papers, 1485 registrants, and 68 exhibitors - all record amounts. This year they had several ‘mini-conferences’
· ● Community/Environmental Noise
· ● Architectural Noise and Building Acoustics
· ● Active and Passive Noise and Vibration Control
· ● Measurement and Signal Processing Techniques
· ● ● Motor Vehicle Noise
· ● Noise and Health
SFS’ LSE® Absorptive Noise Barrier System (http://www.soundfighter.com/absorptive-vs-reflective
) was on display for the hundreds of Acoustical Engineers and Consultants attending the conference. The LSE® System has been tested and proven in real-world applications since 1973, and has been designed and used for many noise mitigation applications around the world, including DOT (http://www.soundfighter.com/noise-applications/roads-and-...
), bridges (http://www.soundfighter.com/photos/bridges
), hvac enclosures, gas compression (http://www.soundfighter.com/
oil-gas), manufacturing, industrial, rail, transformer, commercial, big-box development, schools (http://www.soundfighter.com/
, hospitals, churches, residential and more.
“Many of these Acousticians are longtime supporters of our LSE System.” notes Stacy, “Noise barrier companies come and go over time, and our reputation as the oldest established manufacturer of absorptive noise barriers in the USA gives them a level of confidence that their customers demand. Fortunately, the physics of acoustics does not change over time, and the high-performance design of our LSE System remains one of the world’s very best outdoor absorptive barriers.”
