Emterra’s “Community CareTM” program is designed to contribute to the communities which Emterra Environmental serves across Canada. The objective is to collaborate with local communities to find imaginative and innovative ways to improve the overall health and well being in the environment within local communities and in turn, an improved quality of life for residents within those communities.
“We couldn’t ask for a better outcome from our gift of $50,000 to Newmarket than to add to the community’s tree canopy and create an outdoor art trail that the whole region can enjoy,” said Paulina Leung, Emterra’s Business Development Manager.
The contribution made possible the planting of 100 trees in the eastern portion of the Town. For hikers and nature lovers who actively utilize the Tom Taylor Trail, the environmental art will have further utility, too. The art will double as distance markers along the trail at one kilometre intervals. Residents across the Town and Region will be able to appreciate the newly incorporated, “open-to-the-
