Nov. 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Rare and unique items from sports, television and film history have long been accepted as important pop culture artifacts, appearing in all kinds of sales and auctions across the country.

Now similar items from the world of video gaming culture and history stand on equal ground with the launch of the International Video Game Auction House website.

The IVGHA website, which launched on Monday, November 12, aims to provide a platform for high-end video gaming collectibles and artifacts, including items with historical impact that helped shape the culture and history of the video game industry.

"While there are already auction sites that focus on the buying and selling of video games and cartridges, there is no other site like this one which is dedicated to hobbyists who collect relics, memorabilia and artifacts that commemorate the history of the worldwide video game culture," the website says.  "As a pioneer in the video game collecting field, this Auction House will feature choice, unique and rare items that tell the story of the video game age, from the design and development of history's greatest video games to important milestones in the growth of gaming as an established sport."

The IVGHA is the concept of video game Hall of Famer Ben Gold, who will be travelling from North Texas to Denver, Colorado this weekend to reveal more information at the 1up Arcade's 'Kong Off II' event.
